Anti-Bullying Week - Say No to CyberBullying
November 15th-19th 2010
Welcome to Kidscape’s website for Anti-Bullying Week. We’re here to help you, whether you are a teacher, a pupil, a parent, or anyone who thinks the world will be a better place without bullying!
This year’s theme is cyberbullying. All the new technical developments of the past few years give us exciting choices. But they also give bullies some lethal weapons. Whether using the internet or a social networking site, a mobile phone, its camera and texts, bullies have learned that these technical marvels can be used to torment others, and may be even more effective than violence.
The secrecy and speed of the cyber world encourages the bullies and their hangers-on—with the push of a button devastating taunts or lies can be hung out on the internet for all to see, for instance. We have talked to many who have been severely hurt after a siege of cyberbullying—and helped a few who had tried suicide, feeling there was no where to turn.
This is your chance to make a difference. And we’re here to help.
